The National Campaign Committee of BDS (BNC) invites you to join in the measure of the ability and the struggle of each person to the Global Action Day BDS in Earth Day, March 30 2011, in solidarity with the Palestinian people's right to self determination in their ancestral land.
Inspired and encouraged by the popular uprisings in Egypt and Tunisia and unique manifestation of courage, dignity, civility and determination, we rose strongly with the worldwide struggle for self-determination, freedom, democracy, social justice and equality, and invite you to step up globally BDS actions as the main form of solidarity with Palestinian rights.
The Palestinian Land Day commemorates the day in 1976 when Israeli military forces fired six young Palestinian citizens of Israel and killed them.
These brave young men were protesting along with thousands of other people for the expropriation by the Israeli government of Palestinian land to build new Jewish-only colonies and expand existing ones.
Today Earth Day symbolizes Palestinian resistance to the continued expropriation, colonization, occupation and apartheid in Israel.
welcome and we are next to the equally popular uprisings and determined in Tunisia and Egypt, which confirm that the struggles for freedom, justice and are an equal rights everywhere.
To the people of Tunisia and Egypt, we say. "Your fight is ours, as ours is yours. Your freedom is ours and ours is yours. "
At this time we also remember the twentieth anniversary of the failed attempts which began in Madrid in 1991 to make peace without justice and human rights.
The recently released "Paper Palestinians have certainly confirmed what many people already knew: Israel refuses to comply with international law and rejects any form of just, regardless of any excessive concessions offered by Palestinian officials who have been elected and unrepresentative.
As the heroic struggle for freedom and against apartheid in South Africa today is evident that only sustained international pressure, effective and morally consistent (especially in the form of BDS campaigns creative and sensitive to the context) can force Israel to undertake its obligations under international law and respect the rights of the Palestinians, the main of which is our right to self-determination and freedom.
Inspired by a century of Palestinian civil resistance, the movement against apartheid in South Africa and the intifada of the Egyptian and Tunisian peoples, the people invited BNC conscience around the world to join the Global Day of Action to take effective action BDS, creative and visible. Specifically invite you to:
1. undertake and support initiatives divestment and pressure to encourage individuals, pension funds, institutions and corporations to withdraw their investments in Israel that feed the war, occupation and Israel's apartheid economy, and benefit from them ;
2. Undertake boycotting products and services to Israeli and international corporations that maintain apartheid, colonialism and occupation of Israel;
3. Undertake legal action to end Israeli impunity, including investigation and prosecution in international courts for war crimes and Israeli corporations that are complicit in the violations by Israel of international law.
4. urge artists to join cultural boycott of Israel that is growing dramatically, thereby refused to provide a cultural fig leaf to Israeli apartheid. Artists and cultural figures in South Africa, Africa, Ireland, UK, Canada, France, Italy, Spain, India, Australia, USA, Brazil, Norway and Sweden, among others, have responded to the call internationally supported and directed by PACBI a cultural boycott, thus sending a clear message to Israel that its occupation and discrimination against Palestinians is unacceptable. Far from being "out of politics, many people in the cultural world now recognize that the Israeli cultural institutions play a fundamental role in the campaign" Brand Israel "Israeli Foreign Ministry that aims to divert attention from policy colonial and war crimes of Israel and to cover up;
5. initiate and promote initiatives academic boycott carried away with all institutional links with Israeli universities, including petitions, declarations and awareness campaigns to highlight the role played by these academic institutions to plan, justify and perpetuate the colonial and apartheid policies of the State.
We also urge all our colleagues and fellow activists focus to ensure media coverage to reach a wider audience publishing articles about the BDS campaign in national and local press, telling reporters on the activities of BDS conducted by organizing public actions focused on media such as direct action to publicize the legal action, bringing to light violations, public debates promoting equitable and using alternative means to identify and document these actions.
influential actors and mainstream throughout the world is now responding to the call BDS of Palestinian civil society, made in 2005. Great
star Laureates, global financial institutions, major unions, faith groups, political parties, governments and individuals of conscience of all kinds are beginning to take action.
Five years later the call for the BDS campaign of Palestinian civil society we see signs of that now begins to show cracks on the unconditional support given to Israel for decades by the international community to protect all forms of censorship and responsibility under international law.
campaign BDS shows the way to translate words into action and emotional support to the courts in actions that can truly end the injustice.

Background:
The first Global Day of Action was announced BDS society Palestinian civil with overwhelming support at the World Social Forum in Brazil in 2009. Day of Action was held on March 30 coinciding with the Palestinian Land Day, a key symbol of Palestinian resistance and struggle for land, freedom and rights.
The BDS Appeal affirms the primacy of self-determination right and addresses the fundamental rights of the three main components of the Palestinian people live free from Israeli occupation in the Gaza Strip and West Bank, including East Jerusalem; end the system of institutionalized racial discrimination in Israel against Palestinian citizens, and refugees and internally displaced Palestinians, who constitute the vast majority of the Palestinian people, the exercise of its UN-sanctioned right to return to places where they are originating and receiving reparations.
The announcement of the first Global Day of Action BDS comes after the Israeli military offensive for 23 days, "Operation Cast Lead, during which more than 1,400 Palestinians killed and injured over 5,000 in the occupied and besieged Gaza Strip in grave violation of international law. Continuing military occupation and colonization extensive Israel that aims to gradual ethnic cleansing of Palestinians originally from the Naqab (Negev) of occupied Jerusalem, the Jordan Valley and other parts of the occupied West Bank. Remains the Wall, declared illegal by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in 2004 and continues to detain and activists repressing the Palestinian popular resistance to fighting to implement the verdict of the ICJ ordered the dismantling of the Wall, given the complete failure of the "international community" to enforce this advisory opinion.
These serious violations of international law must be seen in the context of decades of impunity Israeli permitted by Western governments and more recently the UN. Since the Nakba, [ie,] the establishment of Israel through the dispossession and ethnic cleansing of most indigenous Palestinian population, has enabled Israel to deny more than six million Palestinian refugees their UN-sanctioned right to return to homes from which they originated. In the same period Israel was able to impose its system of legal and institutionalized discrimination that fits the definition of apartheid as the International Convention for the Suppression and Punishment of the Crime of Apartheid 199.
